What is a craft activity?

Definition: a craft activity is a service, production, processing, or repair activity carried out by a qualified professional, and which requires specific skills and know-how.

By their characteristics, the craft activities are distinguished from other types of activities including commercial, liberal and agricultural.

Here is the list of crafts activities which have to be registered at the Chamber of Trades and Crafts. Any independent professional who wishes to practice these trades must, therefore, go through the Chamber of Trades and Crafts.

Keep in mind that craft activities are subject to the special regulations and additional fees which can be different for each business activity. Attention, exercising a craft activity without being registered in the Chamber of Trades and Crafts is punished with a fine of 37,500 euros (article 24 law №96-603 of 05/07/1996).
